Van Diemen's Band Presents: nipaluna/Hobart Lunchbox Concerts Summer 2024

lutruwita/Tasmania, October 2024 - Van Diemen's Band is thrilled to announce the return of its immensely popular Tuesday Lunchbox Concert Series to nipaluna/Hobart for the final series of 2024. Curated by VDB's artistic director, Julia Fredersdorff, these concerts offer a diverse program of music spanning various genres and styles, all for the price of a sandwich.

The series will run from November 5 to December 3, 2024, at the Hobart Town Hall, providing a perfect lunchtime escape into an oasis of beautiful music in a casual and welcoming setting.

Concert Schedule:

  1. Tuesday, November 5 - Indra Hughes: A thrilling organ recital featuring works by JS Bach, Praetorius, Jongen, Handel, and Widor.

  2. Tuesday, November 12 - Martin Gester & Aline Zylberajch: Two of France's leading historical keyboard players present a 17th Century double-keyboard extravaganza.

  3. Tuesday, November 19 - Maria Cleary & Julia Fredersdorff: An international collaboration featuring VDB's new Zampieri triple harp.

  4. Tuesday, November 26 - Compass Brass: A rousing brass quintet program including works by Bach, Rossini, Gershwin, and Jones.

  5. Tuesday, December 3 - Deck The Halls: A festive program of Christmas favorites from around the world.
